Fist bumps and “chop knuckles”

Fist bumps to you!

“ I don’t like seeing doctors” he admitted with a chuckle

“Each time I see them something’s wrong”

He had come in … Mid 40s and needing a laceration repair to his left arm after a workplace injury!

I don’t blame you, I replied.

I don’t like seeing them TOO OFTEN too!

He didn’t expect that response!

I cleaned up his wound, numbed it up and started sewing.

I continued … “so I go for my check up yearly so I don’t have to see them down the line for something that could have been prevented if caught early”

He is a father of 6… youngest just clocked 1.

We talked about his travels … He’d been to 6 continents and he showed me pics to prove it!

I asked him where he wanted to be in 10years!

“Still traveling and living life”

BP check …
164/92

I want you still traveling and living life!

An annual check up is important to keep and maintain all your engines running efficiently

I used the car analogy

He got the message

We talked diet changes

Exercise of some sort

Medication came up too

We scheduled a follow up…

We agreed it was an  inconvenience for him!

I chuckled back - “ ..But you’re worth it!”

We did a “double fist bump” (or chop knuckle) as we ended the visit!

So here’s a double fist bump to you!
Doing the needful.

(fist bumps)
